Go to the software from this link And install it using a PC to your iPAQ through Microsoft ActiveSync
2. Configure Communication servers in Portrait
Startup the Portrait and select menu Tools\Options Scroll right to Tab .NET Passport to fill in your account Scroll to Tab SIP Communication Server to fill in your SIP account
3. Contact Your Buddies Using Portrait
Sign in with you account and then add buddies (it does not automatically download buddy list from server). Then you can make audio and video call or chat with them.
And you can also make direct IP call by simply input their IP addresses if you cannot register to any server.
4. Notes
· It is suggested to also install a Portrait client on PC and test communication with it to get idea how Portrait is supposed to work correctly. · The SIP support in Portrait (v2.3) is based on the previous IETF SIP standard (RFC 2543) implemented by Real-Time Communication (RTC) APIs v1.2 which does not restrictively conform to the latest SIP specification (RFC 3261). Due to this fact, it does not work seamlessly with other standard SIP Clients. A list of discovered incompatible problems are listed below. · Audio/Video call only works between Portrait clients (on MS Windows or PocketPC), although Portrait can login to MS .Net Messenger Service or other SIP server. However it can have text chat with some other clients such as MS messenger and SIP Instant Messenger. · The SIP Presence support in Portrait is not conformed to the IETF standard (RFC 3856), so it does not update the buddy online/offline information properly. · The Portrait on PPC seems to use SIP MESSAGE method to initiate SIP calls which should be SIP INVITE according to the SIP specification. |
